Comment on Loneliness
by jgnat inone of the great lessons this board gave me is the cruelty of shunning by the jehovah's witnesses.
it is inhuman.
the toll it takes on a person cannot be underestimated.

Thank you, Randy. Fascinating.
My cousin was at Bethel approximatley 1978-1974 and kept in close contact with friends there after he came back to SC. I don't know any details at all from him so it's very, very interesting to read your experiences. Sometime after this period that you have just written about my cousin stopped going to meetings and began living life very differently. That's all I'll say. His upbringing as a JW, his experiences at Bethel, and his realization that it was not the TRUTH have all been traumatic and devastating to him.
Your pictures are GORGEOUS! Many people would pay millions for those views. I can't believe the WTBTS didn't sell all that property back in 2006 when real estate was BOOMING.

Thanks for your story. Fascinating. You would have been at Bethel the same time as my cousin.

The one thing that might bring down the Watchtower
by Cagefighter inrevealing the finances and financial position of those at the top.. look every organization makes money and it usually goes to the top.
the brothers and sisters could not ignore the hypocrisy if exactly how much was floating around was revealed.
think about it's like a corporation where only the ceo gets paid.

Thanks, sir82. Interesting.
Those land holdings and real estate and stock investments are way down over the last 3 years. And many corporations have slashed dividends.

Yeah, a BIG one. I don't care where. Just one location where people can come from around the world. Pick a spot. Las Vegas, Toronto, Vancouver, London, Sydney, or maybe Brooklyn!!!!!!!!!

A Responsible Discussion on Ray Franz's Role in the Lives of Former JW's
by AllTimeJeff insince it was learned that ray franz went to the hospital and then passed away, most threads have in my opinion, correctly tried to give some honor and respect to a courageous, honest, and principled man.. some borderline trolls, who know many former jw's are easily upset (and they know this.
i know this...) try to take advantage by hitting on a hot button.
in this case, its to call you a follower of ray franz.. we all know that isn't true.. but i think that a legitimate discussion on this is in order.

I can understand Ray not being a fan of these xJW web sites. But they have been a big help to me. You have to take what you need and leave the rest.

Witness movie "Heritage"
by exwhyzee indoes anyone remember seeing the witness movie called "heritage" ?
it was made in the early 60's and they used to show it once a year at the kh when i was a kid.
(with guilty minds, we were secretly glad to see the projector set up in the middle section of the hall because it meant we didn't have to sit through another long boring talk.. even as a little kid i could see the one sided propaganda basicaly showing how empty "worldly" peoples lives were compared to ours and if you were a witness your family life would be idyllic like on "leave it to beaver".

The movie makes it sound like every teenager out in the world is a screwed up, depressed juvenile delinquent. I never saw that in real life. As I got older than 9 most of the screwed up kids I knew were at the Kingdom Hall. So maybe this movie did plant a seed.
